To connect to Zapier you must first set up an MCP in the Zapier Platform, please follow the steps below - and navigate to the Zapier AI Page.
Zapier Integration: Set up MCP and add tools
What you’ll do
Navigate to the Integration Setup in Hatz
Create a Zapier MCP server and generate an endpoint URL (with token).
Paste that URL into Hatz to connect.
Add “tools” (Zapier actions) to the MCP server so Hatz can call them.
Part 1 — Open the Zapier Integration
Open Hatz - Workshop Tab - Integrations
Available Integrations - Click View All
2. Locate Zapier and click "Add"
Part 2 — Create a Zapier MCP server endpoint
Open Zapier AI / MCP setup
Choose your client
Select "Use Zapier MCP with your client.
Open the MCP server generator
Go to: https://mcp.zapier.com/
Create a new MCP server
Click + New MCP Server.
In MCP Client, select Other.
In Name, enter a descriptive server name (example: “Hatz – Team Tools”).
Click Create MCP Server.
5. Generate a token and copy the server URL
In the top menu, open the Connect tab.
Click Generate Token.
Copy the URL with token (Zapier typically labels this as option 2).
Security note: Your MCP server URL (with token) is effectively a secret. Anyone with it may be able to run actions and access connected data. Don’t share it.
Part 3— Connect Zapier MCP to Hatz
Navigate back to the Zapier Integration in Hatz
Paste the URL with token you copied from Zapier.
Click Connect. Confirm the connection succeeds.
Part 4 — Add tools (Zapier actions) to your MCP server
To make actions available to Hatz, you add them from the MCP server’s Configure page in Zapier.
How to add tools to Zapier MCP
Open your Zapier MCP server
Go to the MCP home (from your link/article, this is the Zapier MCP area).
In the left sidebar, select the server you want to edit.
This opens the server’s Configure tab/page.
2. Click “+ Add tool”
Select + Add tool to start adding a new capability your AI can use.
3. Choose the app
Search for and select the app (e.g., Gmail, Slack, Google Sheets, Zoom).
4. Choose the action (this becomes the “tool”)
Pick the specific action you want your AI to be able to run (example: “Send Channel Message”, “Create Spreadsheet Row”, etc.).
Optionally, choose Add all tools if you want to expose every available action for that app to your client (broader access, less restrictive).
5. Select / create the app connection
Choose an existing authenticated connection from the dropdown, or create a new one via the Settings (gear) icon.
Note: if you already set up other tools for that same app, Zapier may already have the connection ready.
6. Configure required (and optional) fields
Fill in any required fields for that action.
Zapier MCP lets you control how fields are filled, for example:
set a fixed value,
let AI choose a value,
or give AI a list of allowed values.
To see optional inputs, click Show all options.
Once saved, the tool becomes available to your Hatz client through that MCP server.
How to view connected tools
Open the integration page. Under Zapier MCP Connection, the connection status will show as Reachable, and any configured tools will be listed there.
