GitHub MCP Integration

Connect GitHub to Hatz using browser-based OAuth.

GitHub MCP Integration

Overview

Use the GitHub MCP integration to bring GitHub context into Hatz.
The provider endpoint for this integration is https://api.githubcopilot.com/mcp/.
Hatz connects to this provider with browser-based OAuth.

Common use cases

  • Inspect repositories, pull requests, issues, and code context in GitHub.

  • Use GitHub MCP in engineering triage and delivery workflows.

Example asks

  • "Use GitHub to summarize open pull requests in this repo."

  • "Find recent issues related to authentication in GitHub."

Prerequisites

  • A GitHub account or workspace with access to the provider's MCP features.

  • Access to the Hatz Connections screen.

Provider-side setup

  1. Make sure MCP access is enabled in the provider workspace if the provider requires an admin toggle.

  2. Start the connection from Hatz and complete the provider browser sign-in flow when prompted.

Connect the MCP server

  1. In Hatz, open Connections and choose GitHub.

  2. Click Connect.

  3. Finish the provider sign-in flow in your browser and return to Hatz.

  4. Test the connection with an ask such as "Use GitHub to summarize open pull requests in this repo."

Troubleshooting

  • Authentication failures usually mean the GitHub workspace or browser sign-in flow is incomplete.

  • If the integration is not visible in Hatz yet, ask a Hatz admin to confirm the integration is enabled for your workspace.

  • GitHub remote MCP uses one-click OAuth by default. Your GitHub organization policies may affect whether you can approve access.
