Copying Workshop Items to Other Tenants

Updated this week

Agents, apps, and workflows in the Workshop can be copied directly into another tenant's account. This makes it easy to share proven configurations with new customers or teams without rebuilding them from scratch.

Who can use this

This feature is available to any user with access to the admin dashboard, including all admin roles: Primary Admin, Admin, Tenant Manager, Billing Manager, and Helpdesk.

How to copy a Workshop item

  1. In the admin dashboard, navigate to the Tenant - Workshop Items

  2. Find the agent, app, or workflow you want to copy.

  3. Click the three-dot menu (...) on the item's card.

  4. Select "Copy to tenant".

  5. In the dialog that appears, choose the destination tenant from the dropdown.

  6. Choose the destination owner - this is the user within that tenant who will own the copied item. You can search by name, email, or role. If the tenant only has one user, they'll be selected automatically.

7. Click Copy.

A confirmation will appear once the item has been successfully copied.

What gets copied

The copy includes all of the item's core configuration, settings, and categories. The copied item will appear in the destination tenant's Workshop with the original name followed by "- Copy" (for example, "Sales Outreach Agent - Copy").

The copy is a snapshot of the published version only. Any unsaved drafts on the original item are not included.

Dependencies and integrations

The copy carries over all configuration as-is, but it does not automatically set up the underlying resources that configuration may depend on. For example:

  • If an app or workflow references a specific integration (like a ConnectWise or Microsoft connection), the destination tenant will need that same integration configured for those steps to work.

After copying an item that relies on integrations or other Workshop items, it's a good idea to open it in the destination tenant and verify that everything is connected properly before publishing it to users.

Naming

Copied items are always named with "- Copy" appended to the original name. If you copy the same item to the same tenant more than once, each copy will have the same name - there's no automatic numbering like "- Copy 2" or "- Copy 3". You can rename any copied item after it's been created to avoid confusion.

Limitations

  • The copy is private by default. The new item will be set to private in the destination tenant. The owner can then choose to publish or share it within their team as needed.

  • Only published items can be copied. If an item is still in draft, it needs to be published first before it can be copied to another tenant.

  • Items can't be copied back to the tenant that already owns them. The destination list automatically excludes the item's current tenant.

  • The destination tenant must be active. Disabled or canceled tenants won't appear in the destination list.

  • Copies can only be made to tenants your organization manages. The destination must be a tenant under your admin account. You cannot copy items into tenants managed by a different organization.

  • The copy is fully independent. Once copied, the new item has no link back to the original. Changes to the original won't affect the copy, and vice versa. To push an updated version later, copy the item again.

  • The destination owner must already exist in the destination tenant. Ownership can't be assigned to someone who hasn't been added to that tenant yet.

Troubleshooting

If the "Copy to tenant" option doesn't appear in the three-dot menu, make sure the item is published. Draft items don't show the copy option.
