Add MSP Users to Admin View

This article covers how to add users/employees of an MSP to the MSP's admin view.

Updated today

Getting Started

This article walks through adding users to your MSP's admin view and your MSP's end user view. Users that have access to the admin view will have the ability (depending on permissions) to view and manage the tenants of your end users. Getting access to your MSP's end user view will give access to things like Chat and Workshop. There is the ability to give users access to just the MSP end user view without access to the admin view if needed.

Access Information and Tenant Hierarchy

When you are setup as an MSP in Hatz you will get access to admin.hatz.ai. Logging in to admin.hatz.ai will give access to your MSP admin view where you can do things like manage end user tenants, manage billing, manage users and manage global settings.

When setup as an MSP you will also have a subdomain that gets configured. This subdomain is typically setup as "companyname.hatz.ai". You can find your subdomain by logging into admin.hatz.ai, selecting the Settings tab and then selecting "My Interface" on the left. This subdomain is what your end users will use to access tenants that you create for them.

Your MSP will automatically have an end user tenant/view that is created when you are initially setup. This is what your internal MSP users/employees will use to access things like Chat and the Workshop.

Add Users to the Admin View

Follow the below steps to add users to your MSP admin view. Keep in mind that users that have access to the admin view can have access to view and manage your end user's Hatz tenants.

Due to the admin view providing access to manage end user tenants, please review this help document on admin user roles before proceeding with adding users to your admin view: https://docs.hatz.ai/en/articles/10716473-admin-account-user-roles

  • Login to admin.hatz.ai

  • Select the "Settings" tab at the top, then select "Users and Roles" on the left menu and then select "Add a user +" in the top right

  • Select "Invite by Email" or "Invite by CSV"

  • If "Invite by Email" was selected, input the user's email address, select which role they should have and select if you would like an email invite sent to them and then select "Send Invites"

  • If "Invite by CSV" was selected, download the provided template, input the user information (email and role) into the CSV and upload it back into Hatz. Confirm the details and then select "Send Invites"

  • Confirm that the newly added users are now populating on the "Users and Roles" page

Reminder: These users will automatically get added to your MSP end user view.

Add Users to MSP End User View

Follow the below steps if you would like to give an MSP employee access to the MSP end user view without giving them access to the admin view.

  • Login to admin.hatz.ai

  • Select the "Tenants" tab at the top and then select your MSP's tenant

  • Select "Users" on the left menu and then select "Add Users" in the top right

  • Follow the steps in the section above for adding users via email or CSV

  • Confirm that the newly added users are now populating on the "Users and Roles" page

Reminder: These users will only have access to your MSP's end user view and will login via your subdomain instead of admin.hatz.ai.

Add User From MSP End User View to MSP Admin View

There might be cases where a user was initially added to just the MSP end user view but you need to give them access to the admin view. Follow the steps below to complete this:

  • Login to admin.hatz.ai

  • Select the "Settings" tab at the top, then select "Users and Roles" on the left menu and then select "Add a user +" in the top right

  • Select "Invite by Email" and input the user's email exactly how it was set in the end user view

  • Select "Send Invites"

This user will now have access to your MSP admin view and will be able to login on admin.hatz.ai.
